The exhibition The Magic Touch: Designing Togetherness presents projects by recent graduates from German design schools at Dutch Design Week 2024 in the Microlab Hall, organised by the German Design Graduates / Interconnected and the Stiftung Rat für Formgebung. The exhibition showcases how design fosters connection on sensory and interdisciplinary levels. Moving beyond traditional notions of untouchable displays, the exhibited works invite direct interaction, bridging design with industry and the broader community.
Curators Nina Sieverding and Anton Rahlwes from The Thing magazine reflect on the exhibition’s theme: "We create with and for others, needing empathy and collaboration to innovate. Design thrives when it connects us, supporting harmonious living and shared knowledge." Emphasizing touch as a transformative force, The Magic Touch highlights how tactile experiences in design can help communicate sustainability, foster inclusivity, and bring designers, users, and industries closer together. Lilli Malou participated with her project Dig In.
