At the Animism exhibition at Alcova Milano 2024, held in Villa Bagatti Valsecchi, Room BV 12 as part of Salone del Mobile 2024, ADORNO invited visitors to imagine a world where everyday objects might truly come alive. Drawing from animist perspectives, the exhibition encouraged viewing furniture and decor as companions rather than mere possessions. Set as an imaginative design banquet, pieces like vases adorned with jewelry and cabinets that seem to “dance” created a dialogue that broadened perspectives on material objects.
Dig In, a set of three conceptual cutlery pieces by Lilli Malou, blended the elegance of jewelry with the functionality of eating utensils, reimagining European dining traditions to celebrate both craftsmanship and the intimate connection between objects and users. Her work resonated with animism’s call to cherish objects as kin, advocating for a sustainable approach rooted in care and respect for material life.
